19. Gerard Butler – Mismatched Ears
Because of a surgery he had as a child to correct tinnitus, one of Butler’s ears sticks out further than others. Normally it’s not noticeable, but when they shaved his head for tomb raider it was really obvious. The makeup artist actually glued it back to keep it from protruding. Still, doesn’t make him any less attractive.
20. Joaquin Phoenix – Upper Lip Scar
Fairly obvious when he’s clean shaven, Joaquin Phoenix was born with a scar on his upper lip. Although many people assume that he had a cleft palate and needed surgery, this is not the case. It is called a microform cleft, which is a mild form of a cleft lip that happens in utero.
21. Padma Lakshmi – Scar on Upper Arm
Involved in a car accident when she was younger, the host of Top Chef was left with a fairly large scar on her right upper arm. Even with the scar, Padma went on to become a model and television star. She finds that the scar makes her interesting and reminds her that she is able to survive any kind of pain.
22. Damon Wayans – Club Foot
A fairly common birth defect, this funny guy was born with a foot that was twisted so that the bottom didn’t sit on the ground in a flat way. Surgery was able to correct the problem, though, and Wayans has gone on to live a normal life.
23. Vince Vaughn – Missing Thumb Tip
In a car accident when he was 17 years old, Vince Vaughn is missing the tip of his right thumb. It’s still functional, but is missing the fingernail so it looks a little weird. Just adds to his Bad Boy image.
24. Ke$ha – Vestigial Tail
Just about a ¼” long, but a tail nonetheless. At least, this is what Ke$ha claimed in an interview with a British magazine. However, it’s hard to verify that this is true since it’s a very rare condition—there have only been 23 cases of this ever reported.
