It’s hard to tell if it’s because they are creative minds or because they think they can get away with stuff that regular people can’t. Or maybe it’s just harder to keep secrets. In any case, here are some celebrities which you probably didn’t know have criminal records and have even spent time in jail.
1. Curtis Jackson
Better known as “50 Cent” or “Fiddy”, Curtis Jackson had a difficult upbringing which led to his arrest for heroin, cocaine, and an illegal firearm in his home. This was back in 1994 when he served six months in an incarceration boot camp. The good news is that he received his GED while in prison. The bad news is that Jackson is now filing bankruptcy, saying that the fancy jewelry he wears for public appearances is rented. Is he currently actually only worth about “fiddy cent”?
2. Mark Wahlberg
Before Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, Mark Wahlberg had a pretty rough time in his teens. Getting in trouble with the law a couple of times for harassing African American kids. Finally Wahlberg got arrested at age 16 for harassing a middle-aged Vietnamese man on the street and attacking him with a stick, knocking the man unconscious, only to proceed to punch another Vietnamese man in the face while shouting racial slurs at him. Although Wahlberg was originally charged with attempted murder, he only ended up spending 45 days in a jail—enough to lead him to turn his back on crime leave the street gang he had been with.
3. OJ Simpson
We all remember that OJ Simpson got off for the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown-Simpson and her boyfriend. However, even though he essentially got away with murder, he didn’t get off completely free. He still was found guilty of kidnapping, robbery, conspiracy, and coercion. His sentence totaled 33 years, of which he has now served 8.
