There’s no doubt this nurse should have never had a medical license. The nurse from New York pleaded guilty to snapping a shot of a patient’s penis and making her directorial debut by filming another patient’s rectum. That must have been some action packed cinema!

The New York Daily News reported the investigation by the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office commenced because of complaints by co-workers. They reported 27-year-old Kristen Johnson was sending text messages with revealing parts of patients. The crime went down at State University of New York Upstate University Hospital.

When the investigating team felt they had enough evidence, they arrested Johnson in May 2015. The investigation spanned 9 months. She was charged with 2 felony counts of unlawful surveillance plus a misdemeanor of disseminating unlawful surveillance. The report of her charges came via Daily Mail.

After her arrest, the truth came to light. Johnson had taken a photo of an unconscious patient’s penis. Also included in the report was Johnson’s iPhone 5 production of a nurse cleaning a female patient’s gastrointestinal blood clot. Johnson obviously has no common sense because she sent the video to the same nurse who performed the cleaning. This report also came via Daily Mail.

Both the photo of the penis and the rectum video were discovered on Johnson’s personal laptop.

Onondaga County District Attorney, William J. Fitzpatrick, releases this statement concerning the case:

“Despite what certain people seem to think, it is a crime in the state of New York to view, broadcast or record images of another person’s intimate body parts, surreptitiously.”

In the end, Johnson’s confession leads to a plea deal with the state in which the felony charges against her were dropped.

According to the deal, she pleads guilty to the November misdemeanor charge and gave up her nursing license. Additionally, she was given a 3 year probationary period.

The kicker is the patients involved were made aware of Johnson’s actions. Everyone wishes to hear their responses to the invasions of privacy. You have to wonder if Johnson will change her identity and move to a new state to do it all over again.
